Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro will have to follow on the success of Redmi Note 5 Pro.
Xiaomi’s next big smartphone launch could be the Redmi Note 6 series, which could arrive sometime this year. While the Chinese smartphone maker has not shared details about the device, the Redmi Note 6 Pro has appeared on benchmark websites and certification sites. With the Redmi Note 6 series, Xiaomi is said to be preparing to enter the US market as well.
The leaked benchmark results indicate that Redmi Note 6 Pro will arrive in three different storage variants: 3GB RAM variant with 32GB storage, 4GB RAM variant with option for either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. Additionally, it is said to be offered in five different colors: Gold, Blue, Pink, Black and Red. It comes as a surprise that these benchmark listings do not indicate the existence of a 6GB RAM variant with 64GB storage similar to Redmi Note 5 Pro.
In terms of features, the Redmi Note 6 Pro is rumored to feature a 5.45-inch notched display and taller 19:9 aspect ratio. It is also expected to come with a screen resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels, a standard feature on most mid-range smartphones these days. It will likely run MIUI 10 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
The Redmi Note 6 Pro will most likely be an incremental update bringing design changes and little update in terms of hardware. It is expected to retain the 4,000mAh battery and feature dual rear camera setup with 12-megapixel main sensor.
Xiaomi claims to have sold over 5 million units of its Redmi Note 5 series in India. With Redmi Note 6 series, the company will trying to offer an even more competitive smartphone. The company recently launched POCO F1 powered by Snapdragon 845 in India at a starting price of Rs 20,999. With the Redmi Note 6 Pro, it will have tough time pricing it well.
